Private Ledger, itinerary details, local history and downloaded files stay in app storage unless you choose to share them.
LAN, Wi-Fi Direct and Wi-Fi Server features discover and connect devices on a network you select.
Account metadata is processed by the service. Supported chat content is end-to-end encrypted before relay.
If you use Chen Cloud, we process your Google sign-in credential for authentication, Chen account ID, Chen ID, display name, signature, avatar, account status, device name, platform, approval state, public encryption-key package and subscription entitlement. We use this information to create and protect your account, synchronize your profile, connect approved devices and verify Premium access.
LAN content is exchanged directly between participating devices. For Chen Cloud chats, the service handles encrypted message envelopes, encrypted attachment chunks and delivery metadata such as sender and recipient device IDs, timestamps, status and expiry. Undelivered encrypted messages expire within 7 days and encrypted file relay data within 72 hours; acknowledged items are removed earlier. Voice or video calls use protected signaling and network-routing data. Media is sent peer-to-peer when possible and may pass through a TURN relay in transit.
Private Ledger records are encrypted and stored on this device. Itinerary entries, reminders and alarm state are stored locally. Nearby discovery, transfer history and local conversations remain in app storage until you delete them, clear app data or uninstall the app.
Model Hub opens web services that you choose, such as an official AI web chat. Information you enter on those pages is sent directly to that provider and is governed by its privacy policy. The current Chen Nearby build does not add an analytics or advertising SDK.
We do not sell personal data. We disclose data only to provide features you request, comply with law, protect users and the service, or work with processors that operate authentication, Google Play Billing, cloud hosting and network relay infrastructure under appropriate safeguards.
You can change permissions in Android settings. The related feature may stop working.
Use the relevant feature to delete conversations, files, ledger records or itinerary items. Clearing Android app storage or uninstalling removes locally stored app data, subject to copies you exported or shared.
A verified deletion removes the account, profile, linked identity, devices, sessions, relationships, subscription metadata and other recoverable server records. In-flight encrypted relay data is deleted or enters a short cleanup queue. Data may be retained only where required for security, fraud prevention or legal compliance, and only for the necessary period.
Subscription note: deleting your Chen Cloud account does not automatically cancel a Google Play subscription. Cancel it separately in Google Play to prevent future renewal.
We use HTTPS/TLS in transit, end-to-end encryption for supported cloud chat content, encrypted local storage for sensitive records and Android protected storage for session credentials. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
Depending on where you live and which network or external service you choose, information may be processed in another country. We apply the safeguards required for the data and service involved.
Chen Nearby is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum digital-consent age in their country. We do not knowingly create accounts for children below that age.
We will update the effective date and provide appropriate notice when a material change affects how information is handled.
